Rajma Masala - Simple Homestyle Rajma Masala - Side Dish for Chapathi, Nann and Jeera Rice

Rajma masala - simple and filling home style gravy with rajma. Most gravy recipes would include cashew or fresh cream, but I always like side dishes with simple ingredients which are easy to digest without any burning sensation in the stomach.  Compared with many gravies, this rajma masala does seem like the healthy option with minimal fat and masalas. By preparing favourite curries at home, you can easily reduce calories, fat and artificial flavours. The base gravy made with onion and tomato paste won't be as creamy as the restaurant style gravies, but it will have more delicate flavour and it is much healthier. To make the base masala paste, just grind the onions and tomatoes separately in a mixer jar. As I mentioned earlier in my previous gravy posts, try to use fresh ginger garlic paste. This fresh paste made with onions, tomatoes make a fantastic base to gravies with a bit of sweetness. I have used chana masala powder in this recipe instead of garamasala powder in this recipe ...

Easy Paneer Gravy - Paneer Masala within 20 minutes - Paneer Recipes

This easy paneer gravy is a mouthwatering side dish made with paneer cooked in a rich gravy prepared with  onions, tomatoes and other spices. It's mild and not very spicy, which tastes so good with chapathi, nann, roti and pulao.  Paneer gravies can be made in a variety of ways. This recipe is the easy version of paneer butter masala. Most of the time we prepare paneer gravy with fresh cream, butter and cashew nuts. To make a tasty paneer masala, you do not need fresh cream. You can easily make restaurant style paneer gravy with easily available ingredients in your kitchen. I always like to add a few cashew nuts while making gravies, which gives a creamy consistency. The addition of dried kasuri methi leaves gives a unique flavour for paneer based gravies. I used homemade garamasala powder for gravies which does not include red chillies or pepper in it. Add garamasala powder to your personal taste preferences. Now let's see how to prepare this easy paneer gravy with step by ste...

Green Tomato Pachadi - Raw Green Tomato Thokku - Thakkali Kai Pachadi

Green tomato pachadi is a tasty side dish prepared with green tomatoes, onions and green chillies as the main ingredients. It goes well with idli, dosa, curd rice and even chapathi. The green tomatoes are usually tangy when compared to red tomatoes and there is no need to add tamarind for the pachadi.  To make this green tomato pachadi you will need Onions - it adds a delicious sweetness to the dish. Make sure to slice the onions thinly, so that it will be blended well with the tomatoes.  Green chillies - as we are preparing pachadi with green tomatoes I don't want to lose the beautiful colour. So I have added green chillies in more quantities. You can increase or decrease the amount of green chillies, according to your spice level.  Green tomatoes - slice the tomatoes thinly because it takes more time to cook when compared to red tomatoes. In the final stage, I have mashed the tomatoes with a wooden masher, so you can get a smooth texture. If you prefer a chunky textu...

Malai Methi Paneer Gravy - Paneer Recipes

Methi Malai Paneer recipe with full video and step by step pictures. Methi malai paneer is made with methi leaves, paneer, fresh cream,  milk and flavoured with spices. This gravy is a mildly spiced gravy tastes good with jeera rice, nann and chapathi. Usually for gravies we sprinkle dried kasuri methi leaves at the end, which gives a nice flavour for the masala. Yesterday I got fresh methi leaves and decided to prepare this gravy for our lunch along with jeera rice. The masala paste for the gravy is prepared with onions, tomatoes, cashew nuts, ginger, garlic ,green chillies and cumin. This dish uses fresh fenugreek leaves which involves few preparation works like plucking the leaves from the stem and cleaning and chopping work. So try to finish plucking the leaves and store it in the refrigerator ahead of time because methi leaves stays good for 3 to 5 days.  Check out my other Gravy Recipes Paneer Butter Masala   Paneer Methi Masala Shahi Gobi Masala Broccoli Masal...
