Kadalai Curry - Kerala Style Kadala Curry For Puttu, Idiyappam and Aapam - Black Chickpeas Curry

Here is the recipe for delicious curry with black chick peas popularly known as kadala curry in Kerala. One of my favourite side dishes for aapam and puttu. I learnt the base recipe from my friend Reshmi from Kollam but I tweaked it a bit. This kadala curry is prepared with simple ingredients like onions, tomato, freshly ground masala powder and coconut milk. The coconut milk gives this dish a bit of sweetness and the curry powder brings the flavour. If you like curries with lots of flavor without using a long list of ingredients and cooking methods, this is definitely one for you. We add just four spices, fresh ginger, pepper powder, chilly powder, coriander powder plus the coconut milk. The curry powder makes it more interesting for this Kadala curry.  Similar recipes Kadala Curry  White Vegetable Kurma Kumbakonam Kadappa Mochai and Potato Sagu Green Peas Coconut Milk Curry  Here is the video link for Kadalai Curry Kadalai Curry - Kerala Style Kadala Curry Recipe Detail...

Peas masala recipe with full video and step by step pictures. This peas masala is a coconut based gravy pairs very well with chapathi, dosa and poori. This peas masala is a simple yet delicious gravy which can be easily prepared by beginners to cooking.  To prepare this peas kurma you will require green peas that have been soaked 6 to 8 hours. Green Peas Coconut Milk Curry - Side dish for Aapam and Idiyappam

Green peas coconut milk curry - an easy curry for idiyappam, aapam, chapathi or poori with green peas, coconut milk, garlic, green chillies coriander seeds powder and onions. It takes only 20 to 30 minutes to cook the curry. I personally like to use dried green peas for this dish as they are soft with a creamy texture. Yellow peas or fresh green peas also taste good. Adjust the pressure cooking time depending on the soaking time of your peas. The coconut milk is the base of this curry, so do not make it too thin or thick. If you are using store bought coconut milk, then dilute the coconut milk with required water. To avoid the curry from curdling, cook the curry on low heat only for 2 to 3 minutes after adding the coconut milk. For this curry no need to add any other additional flavours like garamasala powder. Just the ground paste prepared with garlic, green chillies and coriander powder. This paste adds a nice colour and flavours to the curry. The green chillies must be sa...
