Paneer Biryani - Easy Dum Paneer Biryani - Paneer Recipes

Paneer Biryani - a simple home style biryani recipe with paneer. There are unlimited varieties of biryani with so many different variations. Today I prepared this paneer biryani similar to Hyderabadi veg dum biryani.  I recreated this recipe with my own methods and I have used  the ingredients which are easily accessible. Making this paneer biryani needs some preparation work so we have to plan ahead. Though the recipe is very simple, we may not have all the ingredients. To get the taste and flavor, I suggest you add a drop of kewra essence and saffron milk mentioned below without exceeding the quantity. These two flavours are really needed for this paneer biryani. For this paneer biryani, the classic basmati variety has a wonderful unique flavour and texture. If it is not available you can use any other basmati rice. We have to cook the basmati rice separately until 90 percent is the key to make perfect biryani. If you are using fully cooked rice, it tends to stick to each ot...

Baby Corn Pulav

Baby corn pulav is so easy to prepare, but has a unique combination of flavours, even though all the ingredients are easily available in your kitchen. This pulav is colourful, beautiful and will be great for lunch boxes, simple family potlucks or even for your next dinner party.  The rice is flavoured with cumins, cinnamon, bay leaves, cloves and star aniseed. In addition, you can add some more spices. I like to have green chillies for this pulav because it produces the right amount of heat and flavour without being too spicy. If you like a more orange or red colour appearance for this pulav then include red chilly powder. This baby corn pulav  is one of my son's favourite lunch box dish. When I am cooking pulav or fried rice he really likes and he helps me in the kitchen. He likes fried bread cubes in the biriyani, so I have added the fried breads in this pulav also. Kuska (Plain Biryani)

Kuska - One pot aromatic rice cooked with coconut milk and whole garamasala. Easy, delicious and flavourful rice within an hour. In this recipe, I used onions, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves, mint leaves and spices. The coconut milk adds a certain richness to this rice.  If you do not prefer to add coconut milk, then skip it. I have used all the other ingredients in minimal quantities so that the rice becomes more flavourful after it sits for a while and its delicious to serve at room temperature. The best side dishes for this rice are any kurmas made in thin consistency and onion raita. I don't prefer to cook this recipe on a pressure cooker. If you are in a hurry, then cook with 1 cup coconut milk and 1/2 cup water. Everything cooks together in one pot, the rice is really flavourful and tasty. Make sure you have all  ingredients ready before you begin. Now let's see how to prepare this rice with step by step photos. Check out my other rice varietie...

Corn Pulav

Corn Pulav  This pulav is so easy and delicious too. It's the perfect pulav for lunch boxes, potlucks and get togethers. There are so many different ways you could do this pulav, but this recipe is a healthy one with less oil. This corn pulav is from the cookbook 300 recipes for diabetes by Chef. Mallika Badrinath. I have used only corn kernels in this pulav. Add excitement to your pulav with roasted nuts or pan fried capsicum pieces or tossed paneer cubes. If you do not like the strong flavor of the saffrons then leave it. I have used spring onions for garnishing if you do not have in your hand replace it with chopped coriander leaves.

Mint leaves Biriyani

Make a fragrant rice with green mint paste, whole garamasala, vegetables and coconut milk. Kids like the chunky soya chunks in the rice so I have included it. You can add or remove any other vegetables as per your choice. This is a one pot meal and the cooking process is slow, so that the spices will release the flavours perfectly. For this method cook in a heavy bottomed kadai with tight-fitting lid. Water volume always varies from rice to rice and the age of rice. For regular basmati rice, the water is about 1.5 cups for 1 cup of rice and for old rice we must add 2 cups of water. This rice tastes best for lunch boxes too, and the combination of veggies makes it filling and healthy. If you are in a hurry, skip the coconut milk and cook them in a pressure cooker with 1.5 cups of water on low flame for 12 minutes. If you have time, use freshly made coconut milk. If you are using can coconut milk mix it  with little water and add it. Let's see how to prepare this rice with step by ...

Easy Vegetable Biriyani

Easy Vegetable Biriyani - This Easy Vegetable Biriyani is an easy weekend lunch that's full of nice flavour. Try this recipe and the whole family can enjoy. When you make biriyani you should expect two things they are the rice should be firm not mushy and it should be full of bold flavours. If you follow some basic methods it should be easy to cook a tasty biriyani. Whenever I make biryani, I always prepare a fresh ginger garlic paste.(Do not peel the garlic skin because it adds nice flavour and taste). The ginger garlic paste is the first main ingredient which enhances the taste of the rice. I have used all the dry spices and the biriyani masala powder. I have used the basic combination of vegetabIes that everyone like and you can add any other vegetabIes that you want. I also prefer to add ghee and oil in minimal amounts. Letting the rice rest for 1 to 2 hours before serving helps to release the flavours from the spices and the rice also stay distinct. If you do not have biryan...
